♀ 34 Londoner - I still believe 2 years ago. Yeah, I've paid for OKC, Bumble and Tinder and found all were a far better experience than the free versions. Match, not so much. The people on Match were not right for me, by and large, and it was.so. expensive compared to the others. OkCupid vs Bumble – The difference between classic dating sites and apps. The first thing we need to take a look at when comparing these two platforms is that OkCupid is a traditional website that happens to have an app, and Bumble is a phone app that happens to have a website. This means that OkCupid was made for use on your desktop computer. OkCupid will pay all remaining fees. If your claim against OkCupid is for less than $1,000, and you succeed on the merits, we will pay all fees. If you believe you cannot afford the JAMS fee, you may apply to JAMS for a fee waiver. Each party may (a) request relevant, non-privileged documents from the other party; and (b) request. On OkCupid, you’re more than just a photo. You have stories to tell, and passions to share, and things to talk about that are more interesting than the weather. Get noticed for who you are, not what you look like. Because you deserve what dating deserves: better. By clicking Join, you agree to our Terms. This is because OkCupid is based in the US. In addition to the conversion rate from your local currency to USD, there may be additional fees imposed by your financial institution or taxes imposed by your government for purchases made in US dollars.

So you met that special someone, and you don't need a subscription anymore? Congrats!

We always let you have full control over your subscription and you can cancel yourself, any time, without needing to contact us.
In this article we tell you how to cancel:
If you paid via PayPal or Credit Card
If you paid via iTunes
If you paid via Google Play

On the website (not the app), go to your Subscription Settings page to see your subscription details.

If you use the app but paid with PayPal or a credit card, you will need to go to http://okcupid.com/settings on a browser to cancel your subscription. You won't have the option to cancel in the app or on the mobile site.

To Cancel Your Subscription

On the settings page you'll see a list of your subscriptions and will see a 'Turn off automatic billing' link. Clicking this link will prevent you from being billed again in the future, but you'll keep the rest of the time on your subscription that you have already paid for.

If your Subscription is already canceled

If the button says 'Renew' instead of 'Turn off automatic billing', that means the subscription is already canceled. You should see the date your subscription is set to end.

If you paid via Google Play or iTunes

If the payment method is Google Play or iTunes with no 'downgrade' button, you won't be able to cancel your subscription via our website. To cancel, follow the cancellation instructions listed below for canceling subscriptions made with Google Play or iTunes.

  • On your iPhone, go to the Settings app (not the OkCupid app) > [your name] > iTunes & App Store
  • Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen.
  • Tap View Apple ID. You might need to authenticate your Apple ID.
  • Okcupid Membership Fees

  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Tap the subscription that you want to manage.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription to cancel your subscription. If you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.
Apple does not allow us to cancel subscriptions purchased through the App Store/iTunes; if you're still having trouble you will need to contact iTunes support. Instructions here from Apple.
  • If you purchased via iTunes and are looking on the OkCupid app's settings page, your subscription page will look like this:
    • If you're using the app but don't see an option to cancel in iTunes or Google Play, then it's likely that you paid via Credit Card or PayPal and need to cancel on our website instead. You will see this on the OkCupid app if you have paid via Credit Card:
    1. Go to play.google.com/store/account.
    2. Find the subscription you want to cancel.
    3. Click Cancel Subscription.

    4. If you purchased via Google Play and are looking on the OkCupid app's settings page, your subscription page will look like this:

If you're using the app but don't see an option to cancel in iTunes or Google Play, then it's likely that you paid via Credit Card or PayPal and need to cancel on our website instead. You will see this on the OkCupid app if you paid via Credit Card:

Note on renewals and disabled/ deleted accounts:

If you paid for your subscription with PayPal or Credit card disabling your account does not automatically cancel your subscription/auto-renewal. If you do not wish for your subscription to renew, you'll need to cancel your auto-renewal before you disable your account. If you delete your account, we will automatically cancel your subscription/auto-renewal, and you will not be charged again.
If your subscription is via iTunes or Google Play, those services do not know when your account on OkCupid is disabled, re-enabled, or even deleted, so they do not stop your subscription and you continue to be billed. If you want to stop billing via iTunes or Google Play, you will need to cancel your subscription through them separately from closing your OkCupid account.
